Ice isn't our off-season — for pipe docks it's the platform. We drive out onto it and drill through. Floating docks go in when the water's open. The dock your shoreline calls for determines which window that puts you in.

02 Start with the ground and Shoreline

What's your shoreline?

What holds a dock up depends entirely on your shoreline. Find yours below — that's the conversation we'll have when we come out to look.

Type 01

Exposed bedrock

→ Pipe dock or shore mount

Steel pipes drilled and anchored straight into the rock. Six-inch I-beams welded across the pipe tops, box-framed, cross-braced. It doesn't shift, and you can add to it later.

Sand, silt or mud

→ Helical piles

Welded steel or wood frame on flotation, in wood or low-maintenance PVC decking. Rises and falls with the lake on its own — nothing to reset when levels swing.

Steep or high bank

→ Rockmount shoredecks

Anchored into exposed bedrock at the water's edge. Shore mounts form a flat deck on ground that isn't so flat. Designed to provide a stable transition from land to dock.

Floating docks are fabricated in the shop and delivered complete. Pipe docks and shore mounts are drilled and welded in place.

The part nobody sees, and the reason the dock is still square in year ten.

05 Who you'll be dealing with

Scott Bailey

Scott grew up in Kenora on Lake of the Woods, learning the trade from his father and grandfather. Thirteen-plus years in welding and fabrication before he started Shoreline Docks in 2020.

He's the one who comes out to look at your shoreline, the one who draws it, and the one on site when it goes in. There's no account manager in between.
